California Center for the Arts, Escondido Escondido's cultural and artistic epicenter, the California Center for the Arts, located on a green, 12-acre campus in downtown Escondido, is a multi-faceted arts foundation attracting over 300,000 people annually to its arts education programs, conference center, museum and world-class performance arts season. Designed by renowned architect Charles Moore and officially opened in 1994, the California Center for the Arts is North County's cosmopolitan home for performance art. The San Diego symphony, international dance troupes, comedy, theatre and musicals all perform on The Center's stages, including the most acoustically advanced Concert Hall in Southern California and the intimate Center Theatre for smaller performances. A 34,000 square-foot lawn, studded with palm trees and awash in the inland sun, at Escondido's Center for the Arts hosts weddings, concerts and company retreats all year long. One of The Center's main draws is a also 25,000 square foot Conference Center, with a grand ballroom and versatile meeting spaces. |
